Dr. Dilek Wise
I love my clinical work. My primary specialty is in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
Over twenty-six years, I have been practicing psychotherapy in service to individuals, couples, and families beginning clinical practice in Istanbul, Turkey & continuing in the States of Iowa and Texas, the USA.
Since 1999, I have been living in the US; learning, teaching & practicing therapy and supervision. My clinical practice began in Istanbul, Turkey where I have assisted families, couples and individuals at a wide variety of psychiatric and therapeutic settings since 1992.
I was trained and mentored by culturally diverse faculty from Istanbul University, the Istanbul Family & Marital Therapy Institute, the Iowa State University, and the Houston Galveston Institute.
I'm honored to be one of the founders of the Turkish Family and Marital Therapies Association (AETD) and the Istanbul Family Therapy Institute, formerly known Istanbul Family Therapy School (1997).
I continue to provide online consultations, supervision and mentorship to newly licensed and seasoned healthcare providers, psychiatrists/psychologists/psychotherapists.
My therapeutic style is humanistic, direct, collaborative, pragmatic, experiential, language-based, relationally-focused.
My theoretical foundation is mostly influenced by the Systems theory, Experiential, Brief-Pragmatic, Social-Constructivist, Post-modern, Collaborative Dialogical Practices in Therapy and Supervision.
My priority is to provide you an authentic professional/therapeutic connection in which a meaningful encounter, "Relational-Transformation"© could occur and heal your issues during your visits.
Look forward to meeting you in person.
