Dr. Dilek Wise
I love my clinical work.
My primary specialty is in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
Over twenty-four years, I have been practicing in psychotherapy bilingually with individuals, couples, and families beginning my practice in Turkey & continuing in the U.S.A.
Since 1999, I have been living in the U.S.A., learning, teaching & practicing therapy and supervision. My clinical practice began in Istanbul, Turkey where I have assisted families, couples and individuals at a wide variety of psychiatric and therapeutic settings since 1992.
I was trained and mentored both in the US and Turkey by a culturally diverse faculty from Istanbul University, the Istanbul Family & Marital Therapy Institute, the Iowa State University, and the Houston Galveston Institute.
I'm honored to be one of the founders of the Turkish Family and Marital Therapies Association (AETD) and the Istanbul Family Therapy Institute (1997).
In addition to my in-office and online clinical private practice based here in Houston, Texas, I continue to provide online consultations, supervision and mentorship to psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychotherapists. Theoretical foundation of these practices is primarily based on Systems theory, Relational, Self-Relations, Dialogical, Experiential, Social-constructionism, Collaborative and Language Systems, Brief Psychotherapy, and Pragmatic approaches in psychotherapy.
My style is humanistic, collaborative, direct, pragmatic, experiential, language-based.
First priority is to provide you a therapeutic relationship in which a meaningful healing encounter, "Relational-Transformation"© could be experienced throughout your visits.
Look forward to meeting you in person.
